What to Expect at Your First Visit
At The Dental Rose, we believe exceptional dental care begins with a comprehensive understanding of your oral health. Your first appointment is designed to give us a complete picture of your smile so we can create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all dentistry and recommend treatments that support both your oral health and overall wellness.
Our goal is for you to leave your first visit feeling informed, comfortable, and confident about your dental care.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Dental Rose!
Your New Patient Exam Includes:
+ Digital Dental X-Rays
Low-radiation digital x-rays allow us to evaluate your teeth, bone and gums to detect cavities, bone loss, infections, and other concerns that may not be visible during a clinical exam.
We understand that many of our patients are thoughtful about limiting unnecessary radiation exposure. We share that philosophy. Our digital x-ray technology uses significantly less radiation than traditional film x-rays, allowing us to diagnose problems earlier while keeping exposure as low as reasonably achievable (the ALARA principle).
Our wellness-focused philosophy is centered on prevention. Diagnostic imaging is one of the tools that allows us to identify small problems before they become larger health concerns. Rather than waiting until symptoms develop, we strive to detect disease early—often leading to more conservative, less invasive treatment and better long-term outcomes.
+ 3D CBCT Imaging (When Needed)
If a more detailed evaluation is necessary or if requested, we may take a Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scan. This advanced 3D imaging technology provides a comprehensive view of your teeth, jawbone, sinuses, and surrounding structures.
+ Wellness Scan
Our iTero digital scanner creates a comfortable, impression-free 3D model of your teeth. This allows us to:
- Monitor changes in your oral health over time
- Detect early signs of wear or shifting teeth
- Evaluate your bite and alignment
- Provide a visual understanding of your smile
+ Comprehenesive Periodontal Evaluation
Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. We’ll carefully assess your gum health by measuring the spaces around your teeth, checking for inflammation, bleeding, gum recession, and signs of periodontal (gum) disease.
+ Comprehensive Dental Examination
Dr. Jenny or Dr. Kay will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, existing restorations, bite, jaw function and oral tissues. We’ll discus any concerns you may have and answer all of your questions while developing a treatment plan that fits your goals.
+ Professional Dental Cleaning*
If time allows and your oral health permits, we’ll complete your professional dental cleaning during your first visit
* Some patients may require periodontal therapy or additional treatment before a routine cleaning can be safely performed. If this is the case, we’ll explain our findings and discuss the best treatment options with you.
